MARSHALL COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT
TO HOLD ADDITIONAL DRIVE THROUGH BOOSTER VACCINATION CLINIC
Moundsville, WV – The Marshall County Health Department will be holding a drive through booster vaccination clinic on 10/05/2021 at the Marshall County Fairgrounds. This clinic will be held from 10:00am until 3:00pm, or until the 500 doses of Pfizer vaccine assigned to this clinic are administered.
Pfizer is the only vaccine currently under FDA Emergency Use Authorization for a booster dose.
The following individuals are eligible or recommended to receive a booster of the Pfizer vaccine:
1. Must have received their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine on or before April 5, 2021 and one of the following:
a. People 65 years and older and residents in long-term care settings should receive a booster shot of Pfizer Covid vaccine at least six months after their Pfizer primary series;
b. People 50-64 years old with underlying medical conditions should receive a booster shot from Pfizer at least six months after their Pfizer primary series;
c. People 18–49 years old with underlying medical conditions may receive a booster shot of Pfizer vaccine at least six months after their Pfizer primary series, depending on their individual assessment of benefits and risks;
d. People 18-64 who are at increased risk for Covid-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting may receive a booster shot of Pfizer vaccine at least six months after their Pfizer primary series, based on their individual assessment of benefits and risks.
You MUST bring you photo identification and vaccine card with you. If you do not have these items, you will not be able to receive a booster dose on this date. Vaccination records will not be looked up while at the clinic.
Entrance to the clinic will be from 12th Street, and follow staff directions and signs to the clinic. Everyone is reminded to dress appropriately, short sleeve shirt to allow for ease of administering the vaccine.
As with last week, wait times may exceed 1 hour at these drive through style clinics. If you do not want to possibly wait, we encourage anyone to seek out a booster vaccine through their local pharmacy.
At this time booster doses will only be provided through drive through clinics and not through our walk in clinics at the health department.
